Northwave’s definitely figured out what makes a great high-end shoe. A stiff and lightweight full carbon sole, wood arch support, and unequaled ventilation add up to one of the best road shoes for the money, if not just one of the best road shoes period. The Aerlite’s ratchet buckle can be adjusted both on the buckle side and on the anchor side (normally a fixed point on many other shoes) to achieve a customized and secure fit. Northwave’s shoes fit differently than others, with a little more curvy sole and footbed, and a roomier upper. Northwave’s toe box is wider and rounder, and the sole is a little wider in the forefoot. As with all Northwave road shoes, the cleat hardware allows for significantly more side-to-side adjustment than other shoes. This is great for people with hip, knee, or ankle problems caused by wider or narrower stances.
