The Devine SBS is the women’s version of Northwave’s popular Typhoon SBS. The carbon composite sole helps keep things stiff, but is less costly than a full carbon sole. For the upper, Northwave uses its Airflow System, which is essentially a massive vent in the front of the toe box and a couple of smaller vents in the sole, just behind the cleat, to let the air back out. The Devine uses the SBS system found on most of Northwave’s high-end shoes, so you can get a secure, adjustable fit to keep your heel firmly planted. Northwave’s shoes fit differently than others, with a little more curvy sole and footbed, and a roomier upper. Northwave’s toe box is wider and rounder, and the sole is a little wider in the forefoot. As with all Northwave road shoes, the cleat hardware allows for significantly more side-to-side adjustment than other shoes. This is great for people with hip, knee, or ankle problems caused by wider or narrower stances.
